  Smarter subscription access: no more lock-outs during transient billing issues

  If your card has a transient failure, you stay in BentoCS during Stripe's retry window. If you cancel at period end, you keep access until the period actually ends. Clearer banners throughout.

  Subscription access now recognises five distinct states instead of a binary active/lapsed flag. What changes for you:

  • Payment retry window. If a renewal charge fails, Stripe retries for ~4 days. You keep full access during that window with an amber banner linking straight to the billing page — no more mid-workflow lock-out.
  • Cancel-at-period-end. If you cancel via the Stripe portal, you retain full access until the period actually ends, with a blue banner showing the end date.
  • Clearer "paused" state. Once a subscription truly lapses, you land on a read-only page with a one-click renewal path.
  • Billing page always reachable. You can always open /settings/billing, even from a lapsed state, to update a card or resubscribe.

  Nothing to do on your end — it just behaves more like you'd expect.
